Jonathan Diamond

B.Sc, M.Sc Biology

Jonathan is a Montréal born conservation, ecological, and evolutionary biologist working on master’s research analyzing the relationship between habitat and functional morphology of the North American Beaver. His research is done in the Millien Lab at McGill University, Montréal, located on unceded Kanienʼkehá꞉ka territory. Before this, Jonathan completed his B.Sc. in environmental biology specialized in wildlife at McGill University, where he learned the fundamentals of conservation biology, environmental science, and wildlife and fisheries management.

Jonathan is passionate about science communication and has given different guest talks about ecology and conservation to various audiences including high school classes. Beyond speaking, he has worked on different blog and popular science articles. He is also working on video creating content with Orders of Magnitude reaching a larger audience.

Outside of research, Jonathan enjoys spending time in nature; hiking, mountaineering, and running. He has done these activities in various places across the province of Québec, and the Northeast USA. Lastly, he had the privilege of ascending one of the world’s tallest mountains, Cerro Aconcagua in Argentina back in 2020.
